Parenting book club observation

I had the opportunity to observe a 5 week book club for parents. This book club focused on the use of strengths and positivity in parenting. It was organized by an elementary school counselor and the school psychologist. It was interesting to be able to observe these meetings, as I do not have children of my own, but in the perspective of a teacher and possibly a future parent. I could see ways in which the ideas discussed would be useful in working with my students and even my colleagues and friends. It was also helpful and informative to see how the book club was organized for the parents, as this may be something that I would potentially do as a counselor in the future.

Body Dissatisfaction prevention program

I was not able to find a venue or opportunity to present this program at SAS this year. I will continue to look for an opportunities in which this program may be useful and I look forward to sharing this information.

Further Education, Masters program

See here for my transcript of recent courses taken at Lehigh: Lehigh University transcript
At this time, I have completed a Professional Education Certificate, International Counseling at Lehigh University. I have decided not to continue in the Lehigh program and instead pursue the Master of Counseling program at Athabasca University. I have recently been accepted into this program and I look forward to working on the coursework and practicum. As a result of the change in the masters program, I have not needed to complete an elective course in Sport Psychology at this time but I may do so in the future. It is an area of study that interests me and I hope to be able to spend more time pursuing it in the future.
